Whats stopping GF employees from looking at fakemon designs when their not working or at GF headquarters? What's stopping them from using a VPN?

that would be cool, honestly. it woiuld be nice for game freak to acknowledge the creativity of their fans.
fan contests have produced some of the best digimon designs: cyberdramon, mummymon, mermaimon, surfymon, catchmamemon. maybe they could do the same for pokemon.

In all honesty? Nothing.

Fakemon have always been a mainstream topic throughout every break room and even quarterly meetings.

So are the various “leak sources” among other community driven progressions which has either been rectified or on its way to be handled.

As for what is done with the designs? Nothing much, really. Aside talking about the artists skill and the cool factor. Then it’s back to work as usual, or so the Elf on a shelf tells me.

Fans and Gamefreak do sometimes have the same ideas when it comes to inspiration for a design. This was made 1 month before Litten was revealed

That was more to do with commenting on fakemons. Having a policy for employees to not look at something on the internet sounds a bit weird, especially when it's normal for artists to take inspiration from other works.

Well, you see, we can't just put any random fan design into one of our games. We have to justify the Pokemon's reason for existing. We took out Gorochu because we couldn't justify it's existence. If that Minotaur fan design doesn't make sense in the Pokemon world, we can't make it official.

The same thing that stops any company from using any fan design or idea. They don't want the possibility of getting sued. It doesn't matter if Gamefreak/Nintendo would win the case every single time, it's a huge was of time any money for both parties to even go to court in the first place.
