I've been hearing people say they'll drop the series if gen 8 doesn't innovate, and I want to stop that. I'm thinking:

-A choice of Normal/Hard mode from the get-go
-Pokemon follow you
-NPC animations that aren't stiff
-Graphics that don't look like a Citra filter
-A postgame akin to gen 4's (Battle Frontier, a multitude of new routes, etc.)
-Perhaps a new type
-Overworld encounters
-Exp. Share being off by default
-A dickish rival that actually motivates you to become better than them
-An interesting plot
-Tone down the amount of legendaries, make them feel special

Any other ideas?
