Nothing diminishes human struggle more than a parallel universe paradigm. It's human nature and the very foundation of the ego itself to think we are special, which is why humans thought earth was the center of the universe and modeled our gods in human likeness.
If you say chronology doesn't matter, the choices you made in the past aren't real because they can be retconned. If you say there are parallel universes, choice doesn't exist because all possibilities happen at once. You didn't make a choice that changed the universe, the universe changed itself so your choice was the outcome.
Ideas like this upset people on a very basal, instinctive level. So they're going to shit on bad temporal awareness whether they grasp why or not.
