I wish people were able to understand that "gatekeeping" exist in video games communities not because people don't want others to enjoy the same thing, but because of lot of times these people make demands that can ruin the franchise for the people who already supported it.

Sad. I also enjoyed Skyward Sword, but Ip didn't go into Zelda communities saying they are all wrong and being dense to their criticism saying they were just haters and that the series should have had to follow that path.
The sad fact is that GF will totally listen to those scums. The good part is that they will starting ignoring pokemon again when this nostalgia fad will fade away and they will fail. GF deserves everything Sonic Team went through.

GameFreak might be incompetent programmers, but this is the third time or so they've reeled in the nostalgiafag audience. They know they can't lose them again, not after how well LGPE did in the West.
They're going to butcher the shit out of the 2019 games for their sake because they know they don't have an attention span or patience that can handle a cycle of "Regular Game > Let's Go Game > Regular Game" and need their fix every FUCKING year, and they know how to pander all too well while shoving anything past Gen 2 into a dark corner.

Horrible scenario. But anyway, even COD sales are decreasing, they can't get away with this forever. People will just get fed sooner or - more probably - later.

Pokemon's been a yearly franchise since the beginning, it's just that up until recently most of those years have been filled in with spinoffs.
Now non-mobile spinoffs don't exist because GameFreak and TPC don't like games that don't sell, and every release that isn't a mobile game is a hastily-made game from GameFreak to meet deadlines.

Spin off but from different devs, not counting the game are much harder to make mow YET GF dev cycle is shorter than evee and on top of that they even split their sources in 80 subteams doing sideprojects like Town or LGPE.

Ishihara already confirmed that Pokemon 2019 will be less beginner friendly. Plus pixelpar said that Pokemon 2019 is already going through the localization stage so we know it's going to be bigger than previous entries.
