Gen 2 music is really nice, though I prefer the gen 4 arrangements better, GSC chiptune always sounded scratchy to me
Fuck Gen 3 horns, sounds like ass, though the gen 6 remasters were nice
Gen 4 has some nice ambient tracks like Eterna Forest, Snowpoint City, and the lake theme are great, but the rest of the OST is super lacking, especially battle themes
Gen 5 is best hands down, every track is a bop, the soundfont is glorious, the drums on every track utterly shred. imo, the perfect soundtrack
Gen 6 is really mixed, easilly the cleanest sounding mix of the series, but a lot of the themes aren't too memorable other than some town themes like Laverre and Snowbelle. also fuck ya'll gym leader theme is great, it actually has energy.
Gen 7 is a fucking disaster: Every song with a clean mix is completely unmemorable and every catchy song is mixed like dogshit. Gen 7 OST actually makes me upset listening to it other than Guzma's songs.
