That was the first battle against Dartrix you're thinking of where it lost easily. It actually drove Dartrix back with the attack (then stopped itself from evolving out of its backpack nest).

Actually, many birds eat rocks to help with digestion. They don't actually digest the rocks themselves, though, and eventually spit them up.

It doesn't digest it, it just stores it in its gizzard to use as ammo for Seed Bomb. The Pikipek line do the same thing with rocks to use Bullet Seed.

Yep, some herbivore dinosaurs did similar (notably members of the saurpodia family). They even explain this in the episode (Trumbeak and Toucanon try and teach Rowlet Bullet Seed by eating small stones).

No, the episode of the anime where Rowlet learned Seed Bomb explained the Trumbeak and Toucanon that fostered Rowlet used gizzard stones as ammo for Bullet Seed. It's why when Rowlet tried it with pebbles, he couldn't do it but when he picked up a rock (or the everstone as it turned out) he was able to imitate it as Seed Bomb instead.

That's weird. Then why is it called Bullet Seed if it uses rocks? If they're spitting out rocks, it would make more sense to say they're using Rock Blast.

Because usually it's a grass type using it? Again, they seem to infer it's only the Trumbeak/Toucanon who do it this way (makes sense, they aren't Grass types so would need to store seeds to use, but they are part of their diets too).

Different Pokemon use different things for Bullet Seed

Toucannon is a bird so it can't make its own seeds, it needs rocks to use Bullet Seed. Same applies Rowlet since it's biologically mostly bird.

Wrong.
It's weaker than Dartrix, but it's otherwise been a good battler in spite of laziness that makes Slaking seem like a multitasker.

Ash beat Hala's Crabrawler with Rowlet, which Hau said he wasn't able to do with his Dartrix

Rowlet played a major part in two of Ash's Grand Trial victories, while Hau hasn't completed a single Grand Trial or gotten a Z-Ring yet

Honestly, I would have liked to see Rowlet itself in smash. It would have been cool and cute, and a first stage pokemon. We haven't seen that by itself since meelee.

Z-Moves basically became the starter Pikachu/Eevee exclusive moves, I don’t know if they’ll keep them for gen 8 though, its kinda hard with all the Alola lore behind them and the dancing shit

That's why I'm pointing it out, they're exclusive moves to Pokemon that are probably going to suffer the fate of Spiky-eared Pichu and Cosplaychu so Z-moves end up getting stuck in Gen 7. The exclusive moves also just became regular attacks anyway.
