They all either have fanfic tier writing, re-use official sprites and assets or use stock pokemon essential ones, or cram so much new ideas and features in that it's blatant that it's a fan project.
Sage uses it's own custom tiles and sprites which have a consistent aesthetic that still very much feels like an official pokemon game's visual style, same for music; it uses dialog and writing that feels like GF wrote it without being super serous/grimdark, cringy, etc; it's pokemon designs feel like pokemon and use sugimori's design trends, wheras most other fakemon are just designed in the style of the original artist's, etc.
No other fangame actually nails feeling like an official title nearly as well as sage does.
