Just have the battle suddenly shift into a Totem battle after beating all of Lusamine's Pokemon by having Merged Nihilego split off from Lusamine and fight you directly while regular Nihilego start flooding in as summons, then later make Merged Nihilego obtainable with some kind of item that can turn any Nihilego into it.

What's funny is people saying this unironically, confused why it doesn't happen to others when it does.

ALL Pokémon get a mad facial expression when a Z-Crystal becomes active (most noticeable on status moves since it's all that happens for them). Hers just stay in that state.

Obviously they could. Pokéstar Studios in BW2 have a few 'unobtainable' Pokémon so it wouldn't be a first.

But they didn't because GF knows that if you're seeing this battle they already have your money anyways.

She caught the Nihilego, since it returned to a pokeball afterwards. So that's the sixth pokeball slot there.
I just thought fusing with Nihilego was how Lusamine got her team those totem boosts. .

Except any other game that relies on Type Matchups also does this at some point? SMT/Persona & Digimon for example, I think Dragon Quest but I can't really recall anything in particular.

On the first fight with Lusamine, her Bewear fucked my pokemons raw. It was the only time my pokemons almost all died through the game. I was pissed to not be able to fight her in that form, but i was seriously hoping her Bewear would be worse. Too bad he's piss easy on the second round
