TLoZ, ALttP, ALBW, and BotW are the only ones that feel like they're in a series at all outside character reuse etc. and even then the middle two are debatable.
BotW could've simply been called The Legend of Zelda again. If you actaully played the fucking game you didn't need them telling you it was entirely based on a 2.5D mock up of the original (which I personally would like to see released in it's own right because it looked cool as hell in the BTS videos).
This is what makes Trash Go so glaringly bad. Especially alongside BotW, Odyssey, and the forthcoming Smash Ultimate.
They went back to their roots and built up, while Masuda decided demaking to see what the limits of the braindead fans was. Lucky for him it turns out that content leaking out a hole at the bottom of the barrel is right up many of their alley's.
