gen 5 fans appreciate the best games in the series, and also praise god-tier games from other generations (such as emerald, platinum, and hgss). gen 5 fans have stayed loyal to the franchise through the ups and the downs. generally, they just want what's best for the franchise.
in contrast, genwunners spend more time trashing every other generation (especially gen 5) than praising their own. they make obnoxious demands that have started ruining the franchise because game freak is dumb enough to listen to them. despite being pandered to more than anyone else by far, it's still never enough for them. they are not actual fans of pokemon, as they quit the franchise whenever it stops being trendy and/or tries to do anything different.
