I think i will break my Bulbasaur chain (which is at 460 now or something) and just do something else.

It's been a whole week and still nothing. Not even the shitty shinies like Pidgey and Weedle are spawning anymore. As unreasonable as it sounds, it feels like the higher my chain gets, the less shinies spawn. It is so fucking frustrating how much bad luck i have with this fucking Bulbasaur.

Ok I need help with something. Chaining for shinies is kind of related but I’m building up species candy to help master battles go better and I’ve noticed after a 100 chain of machop and 100 chain abra I have way more machop candies, which I can only attribute to my accuracy as abra is impossible to land an excellent unless I use nanab which I’m not made of, does accuracy affect candy drop rates?

There isn't any specific spot since it's a rare spawn and only one Bulbasaur can be on the screen, never more than that. It doesnt matter where i am in Viridian Forest, it takes only a few seconds to walk into one, run away and walk into the next one since it spawns immediately. I just don't have any luck. Even had to sell Bulbasaur candies because i had 999 of them.

Does anyone have a shiny Bellsprout? As I said earlier I’m not sure it’d help but maybe break the chain on purpose, reset the RNG chain since it’s not working out. I had a similar problem with machop where around 188 I almost quit, went after rhyhorn instead but got super lucky with 2 shiny rhys after a similar 150 chain, so I went back to machop and surely chain 41 there it was.

What are the coolest shinys avaiable in LTPE?

if you’re new and decide to take this on as an option, go to your local area with a lot of poke stops so you can get all the poke balls, and keep in mind Pokémon don’t appear shiny in the overworld, so you have to click on them and check for shiny. happy hunting

Gold Bottle Caps: found on the Game Corner floor. Save before entering, check the 6 spots, reset if you miss. Resets daily.

Bottle Caps: same as above (but don’t settle for less than Gold) or shove Mina’s shit in daily on the Vermillion Pier

Heart Scales: examine the Bike Maniacs’s collection and he gives you 5. Seafoam Islands Cinnabar side entrance has one. Inside Seafoam, 2 floors down there are two hidden in rocks that respawn daily. One on the east wall, one on the west.

Natures: Madam Celadon in the Celadon PokeCenter can lock your natures for a day for 10k. EXTREMELY VALUABLE.

My suffering finally ended.
8 days of nothing but Viridian Forest framedrop cancer. A shitton of shiny Pokemon i ran away from to not break my chain. I must admit i got really weak on the sixth and seventh day, but i pulled through and finally got it.
Thank god only Pokemon i had absolutely 0 interest in their shiny formes spawned so it wasn't that hard for me to run away from them. Might have broken the chain for a shiny Pikachu though.

Anyway, i finally found my shiny Bulbasaur and it has perfect IVs in everything but speed, which i am okay with.

Press F to pay respects to all the shinies i had to abandon on my quest for this fucker.
7 shiny Weedle, 2 shiny Caterpie, 2 shiny Pidgey and 2 shiny Bellsprout (i forgot to make a screenshot of the second one since it spawned immediately after the first one which got me startled)

I will never set another foot into this cursed forest ever again.

I'd say give Eevee the Ice special move, Freezey something? It would be good for Lance.

506? there's your problem. You only need to catch 31 to max out potential for a shiny. going into battles and catching additional bulbasaur over 31 is a waste of time. While you're in battle throwing the ball and waiting for the pokemon to be caught that is time wasted on potential shiny spawns.

That only works for regular spawns.
Bulbasaur is a rare spawn which means only one Bulbasaur can be on the screen at any time. Waiting for it to despawn and a new one to spawn takes longer than to catch it or flee from it.

Trust me, i tried a lot of shit in these 8 days to make the process quicker.
Also, i needed to catch them to get candies to sell them since i was running out of lures and balls.

Ok so I'm playing these games and loving it so far but can someone explain to me why everybody is obsessed with shiny hunting? Almost every streamer on Twitch is doing it and now there's a fucking thread for it. If you are going specifically for a high IV shiny Lapras, then you should actually surf into them and run away so that they respawn quicker. But you will going to burn through a lot of lures that way.

If you don't care about IVs and also want to catch a Magikarp, just use a lure and wait in the sky.

Was chaining for Magikarp all day today, managed to get it but I reallllly wanted to get one in a Premier Ball (was forced to go to Ultra after it popped out twice), so I'm continuing my chain.
During this chain, I let two shiny Lapras and a shiny Tentacool despawn. I might have gone after them if they weren't locked to Jollt. Oh well, hopefully I'll get my 'karp tomorrow.

and during my Meowth quest I got a shiny Magikarp just by flying over the grass area near Nugget Bridge. Was very weak and went into a Premier ball very easily. I'd suggest flying over the water of a weakmon route for an easier karp catching.

Shiny Dratini and Charmander are worth much more than their last stages since they are so rare in the wild and hard to chain.

It took me over 600 Bulbasaur. Hang in there anon. It's only so bad due to one spawning at a time. Something I did was do this was at the south exit towards viridian. If the bulba wasn't shiny, I ran to the other side to make them despawn/respawn at the new side I was at. You can also repeatedly run into the bulbasaur and run to make him respawn (after your 31 chain obv). Any pokemon of the 'rare spawn' catagory make me want to cull my eyes out with a rusty spoon when chaining.

My general rule when chaining: If two balls don't work run.Unless it's your shiny .. then hunker down, pop those razz berries, and chunk away while praying.

I just need to evolve the Let's go eevee exclusives because I have Le's go Pikachu but I have those pokemon from go. The only ones I really need for the dex at the moment are the legendary birds and I need another koffing because I only have one
