Not the best example since this is one of the few tunes that actually sounds like it should be orchestral. I agree with your point if relating to 90% of the rest of the game though, they pretty much just took the notes from the gb version and put them through an orchestral vst.

The GBA's sound chip and speaker were terrible. RSE's soundtrack wasn't bad, but FRLG's remixes were abysmal. Trying to translate chiptunes into flutes and electric guitars, but played over the shitty GBA speaker was just bad. The RBY soundtrack worked on Gameboy, because it sounded clean, and your imagination can fill in the gaps in the music easier if it's not trying to imitate real instruments.
