The power creep in Gen 7 was insane. Basically everything got shifted down one tier. The only reason UU doesn't look like Gen 5 OU right now is that they quickbanned/councilbanned practically everything that fell down in the beginning of Gen 7.

I wonder if the power creep will be as bad in Gen 8. I kinda doubt they'll give us another dozen min-maxed semi-legendary and legendary Pokemon, but who knows at this point.
