GtI and Super Wonder Mails are a different thing from the first 2 games. They're just codes. Fixed codes, that give you items or, in a specific case, unlock a dungeon. That's it.

To be honest rock polish carried me, without it I wouldn't be able to do it. At lvl 15 it learns metal claw which is a powerful stab with a chance for an attack boost. Near the end (80+ floor) it learned roar which is useful when you rush for the stairs. Steel/rock type is nice at the beginning because it resists normal attacks, but later it is getting worse with common fighting/ground types, I had to be really careful. It was a nightmare. Honestly, reaching the end was possible only thanks to items, mainly pass scarf, status seeds and of course speed boosts.

I have trouble imagining Protag Rowlet in Gen VII Mystery Dungeon. He's so round.

Super is worth it.
I enjoy the smoother gameplay it provides.

So, the process for getting a specific egg in Sky was to hunt for the outlaw-with-subevolutions missions with ??? as reward, odd floor for male and even for female, right?

What's the flavor text for that type of mission? I've done a few missions where it said "with henchmen", but it always turned out to be a monster house.

I ended up looking into it myself - the javascript for the generator was easy enough. Turns out it doesn't handle secondary targets correctly, which happen to be used for this type of mission. It also generates a random flavor text via the number code instead of a proper one, so the resulting mission looks weird, even if it works.

Yes. Release order. You'll most likely skip Adventure Squad though (it doesn't have much to offer that isn't already in Sky, most things that weren't in Sky suck and it's only in Japanese, oh, and for the Wii)
Gates to Infinity has a lot less content than the other games and text speed is very slow.

Her normalize ability gives her stab but dealing with ghost types is hard for her later in the game so to avoid that just pick a good starter. Skitty IQ skills are actually really good if you raise them, skitty will know the map to where the stairs are to the floor and she won't set off traps. A good partner is shinx or Pikachu since they get discharge. You can go for a water type as well which are all solid choices but accuracy with blizzard in that game sucks.

Normalize does what it name says. It turns all of skitty's attacks into normal type. Example Thunderbolt is an electric type but with normalize it will become a normalize type. (as a result pokemon with lightning rod will get hit by thunderbolt because it became a normal type). Plus with normalize Skitty will always have a stab move.

Skitty can basically learn almost any TM I can't name them all but she has a wide variety of TM's to use at her disposal and double slap will be your best friend so use Ginseng and carry a lot of max elixir. Early on skitty gets sing which will be useful since most mons have low IQ but later on sing might not be needed anymore.

Also having heal bell is useful if you want to 100% since you will not to carry heal seeds since you may get status. As I mention before if you raise and max out skitty IQ, she will find the stairs to the next map which is useful for 100% games and she will not set off traps like poison food or explosions if she steps on them.

Any partner is honestly good with Skitty except chikorita. Chikorita is the worse choice since all her moves are only normal and grass and her only good grass move is energy ball TM or bullet seed. I would have chosen phanpy if earthquake did not do damage to me as well. So basically any other mon is good either it being fire or water or grass or electric. Honestly I really wish Wooper was one of the choices in mystery dungeon.

Before Super and maybe Gates, "no effect" attacks still deal some damage, and are called "little effect." For example. you can still try using Thunderbolt on a Wooper, it'll just say "not very effective" because it is water/ground

PMD Super is by far the toughest of the series that I have played. My only problem with it is the story is kinda lackluster and the boss fights are very easy compared to the dungeons themselves.

PMD sky has the best story and character development by far but the dungeons are very easy and the boss fights aint that tough either.

PMD infinite gates is the worst shit I have ever touched.

I have played RT already it was fun and had also a very good story but in terms of difficulty its only a bit tougher than Sky.
Dont know what happened with Super but they upped up the diffculty spike by a lot I just wish the boss fights were as tough too and a similar story to RT and SKY. The whole elementary school kid junior troop doesnt do it for me. The gameplay is some good shit though.

Super has indeed the hardest dungeons in terms of boss fights Explorer/DT have the hardest boss fights and also RT but explorers takes the edge on that one especially the Darkai fight with Cresselia dying on me everytime.

Sky is the complete package you can ask from a game.
Challenging, amazing storytelling ,grade A++ characters. Super is definitely up there when it comes to challenge just wish the boss fights were as hard as in Rescue Team and Darkness/Time/Sky and they wouldn't hand out so many strong mons early on.

Speedrunners use riolu + vulpix, but I've heard a lot of people use Pikachu + Treecko because they both get agility and dig, which helps with Dialga.
Personally, I just play with the most immersive pair.

I'm honestly inclined to believe Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is dead, they made it seem like Super was supposed to be the last in the series. This paired with the awfulness that is the level 5 dungeons really hurt Super for me. It's bad enough you can't use what you want without throwing like 5 missions in a row, but the fact that most of the roster has 5+ moves learnable at level 5 means that to get an optimal moveset, I have to reset dozens of times.

I was right, zooming out the camera automatically on every floor should be possible by placing "CAMERA:SetFovy(Degree(27))" (or another value, 27 is the one in the image) somewhere in the code. I don't know what the best place for that would be though, because I can't tell what's guaranteed to run on every floor.

Install Luma if you haven't already, extract all the GtI/Super files from the romfs and decompile the .lua scripts. I'm not sure about GtI, but Super doesn't need you to recompile the scripts, the game reads them even if they're just text files.

what's the point of having more than your partner pokemon in your team?
You can't even use your other teammates most of the main game, and the level gap becomes too big to justify keep using the ones you had before each part.

It's good, but I suggest just playing them all in release order.
They're not long if you're just doing it for the the story and not looking to recruit every pokemon or complete every dungeon, and generally they all do at least one thing well.

I used to play these games a lot but never really 100%ed any of them. Making some real progress with RT now but Purity Forest is turning out to be a massive pain. Tried using Mew and Charizard but usually die around 60F if I get lucky with the items early game. Am I not grinding levels enough? Should I be using standard attacks instead of moves all the time? I see other people getting to 90F+ with the same pokemon.

what's the best strategy for the postgame in explorers?
The game tries to tell you "don't make a team but rather have many members you can rotate at will" which is nice and all except for the fact you would be running with lvl 40ish pokemon with basic iq all the time.

Yes.
Teleport has limited pp but can be used whenever you like.
Warp Scarf is unlimited, but takes 1-5 turns to activate and has to be unequipped every time you walk to the stairs.
Combine the two for more warp control to GTFO of any room with a parasect

If anything, it's the starters that aren't worth using. You can't get statups from gummis from them for the entire story, whereas you can roid up a recruit the second you recruit it

You mean in Red/Blue? The only time your team is restricted is in the fugitive event, otherwise you can take whatever whenever. I remember fighting Rayquaza and Groudon with like Beldums and shit.

But also yea having to reform the team after every dungeon will become more annoying than it's worth. Past the credits yo should just solo everything and only take partners if you need an HM slave for it.
