Sometimes I look at these two and cannot help but wonder if Game Freak hadn't yet realized their series was a medium-shaking monster hit and Sugimori and the others were just drawing whatever they came up with just like always. Probably so. Sometimes I miss that. Of course Pokemon casts are still weird 20 years on, but you wouldn't get something as shamelessly concept-arty as these two today.

How is it possible to have taste this bad?
Name ONE thing that's better about the RS look. Emerald May is drawn with better proportions and a cuter face, but her outfit is also better looking and the color scheme compliments her more than the mainly red attire.
