>>37142537's, unless you're a weirdo that enjoys playing little cup, prevos are always unnecessary and the only thing they ever add is dex filler and eviolite-related pain. I'm not saying I agree with them in the slightest, since I'm biased towards lore more than functionality, but it seems to be the opinion of the majority that prevos and babies are pointless, and I can see where they come from to be honest, since most of the time you want to use strong fully evolved mons and not some baby wielding a rock, and it's also a chore to catch them all when there's a million previous forms of a mon that you don't care about catching but have to anyways.
Should have? By all means, yes. Stuff like aerodactyl, lapras, tauros, pinsir, absol, audino, etc. have no bussiness hatching from eggs already like that and not into a smaller mon. Not only could they have the potential of being someone's new fav (much like many preffer goomy/chinchou/hoppip over go.odra/lanturn/jumpluff), but prevos can also make a single stage line more interesting by virtue of existing (evolution is one of the cool things to do when raising a mon), could provide some really interesting moves to their final forms if gamefreak handled that mechanic better, and ultimately make for a more lively and richer world. Plus, they are an excellent source of merchandise like plushies and shit.
TL;DR - It's more a question of your own priorities on regards to pokemon than something that can be answered in a definite way. If you only care about the fully evolved mons, then you won't want them. If you care about making the lore and roster richer, you'll want them.
