I grew up with gen 4 and even though I recognize RBY are mechanically the worst games in the series, they're still my favorites

What's wrong with me?

I just think its because you need to find things for yourself. Every other game just straight out tells you where to go heck SM/USM doesnt even bother to keep it a secret they just put a flag on the map for your next destination. There is no sense of progression in future games.Not to mention exp share/ cutscenes and endless NPC talk ruin your journey.
