>and it kinda made it less unique of a thing overallEh? This doesn't make a ton of sense to me. The point isn't for *having* a signature move to be rare and unique - the point is for the signature move *itself* to be unique. There are some really good ones - Baneful Bunker, Beak Blast, Berserk, Dancer, Disguise, Fluffy, Instruct, Pollen Puff, Shields Down, Soul-Heart, Spectral Thief, Stamina, Steelworker, Triage and Water Bubble
and I honestly do love Emergency Exit and First Impression as a combo, even if I think it's too much of a hindrance and hurts Golisopod - that all significantly change the way you use the Pokémon and actually set them apart from everything else from a mechanical/gameplay standpoint, which I think is fantastic.
Of course some are unnecessary or silly (for example, Power of Alchemy and Receiver do nothing for either of the Pokémon that have them, and they're also exactly the same/functionally not even signature), but on the whole it's actually one of my favorite things about Alola's Pokémon.
That said, I agree with
>>37146200 - once the new games have passed, I do like when other Pokémon start to get some of those moves and Abilities, especially underappreciated or weak ones that could use the boost. There's no need for it to remain exclusive forever - it's just cool that, in theory, every new Pokémon had something nothing else had and was guaranteed some kind of niche when it started out.
Except Alolan Persian because Nanu is lazy and so is Game Freak when dealing with him.
