Would it be possible for Gamefreak to double down on Lucario and create a new "Aura" move? Is it too late for them make Lucario popular again?

Lucario never stopped being popular

And technically speaking, Bone Rush is its other "aura move", you never see a Lucario without that move in the Pokemon franchise.

Bone Rush is a terrible move. I was thinking Lucario should get a Aura move that hits both opponents in doubles, never misses, and goes through Substitute.

Are you kidding? Lucario was basically the face of mega evolution back in Gen VI, if anything lucario is way too popular for GF's sake.

Lucario is less popular than Greninja now. He doesn't have staying power with anyone besides the furfag community. If we made furfags an enemy of the state and persecuted them like we should, Lucario would probably be closer to like 60th or 70th place in popularity.

Greninja had a massive drop in popularity after Gen 6 ended (the Kalos League fiasco also played a part in its drop in popularity).

Greninja not being in Pokken is proof of it not having the staying power of Lucario.

Greninja lived and died by the anime. The anime both made it popular and killed its popularity.

Greninja has been nowhere to be seen in Gen 7. It didn't get any new moves, new forms, or a Z-Move.
