>>37156334Only one counter, unboosted fsmash kills the majority of the cast at 55% or lower from centre stage. This creates an extreme problem against the projectile using portion of the cast who wants to 'camp him out'. Go on, throw your projectiles at him for a free revenge boost. I hope getting 12% from 3 boomerang throws was worth losing your stock at 30%.
He is nothing like brawl ganon. Brawl ganons problem was that even when he got a powerful hit it, it was only ever one. So what if his usmash did 20% uncharged, when a fox only needed to land one uptilt and ganon was locked until 60%? Brawl ganon still needed to win 5 encounters to get the enemy to KO % where weak characters might have only needed 2-3 exchanges to get ganon into KO %. Heavy hitters aren't supposed to trade one heavy hit with a much more damaging combo, they are supposed to use those hits to win trades and throw those hits out against the combo starters.
Incineroar is wildly different because he doesnt need 5 or so single heavy hits to get you into KO range, he needs fucking one. And it is WAY more easier to win a 'trade' vs a fast, ranged poke with a counter than it is to win that trade with a slow, heavy move.
Counters traditionally aren't very good because they offer 0 follow ups, so its a medium reward, very high risk move. Incineroars counter is absolute maximum reward for the same risk with the added bonus of activating versus projectiles where normal counters work.
