>>37159631I don't believe many of these claims here. Yes, I believe these games will be Gen 8, but I am skeptical of everything else. "Completely different" from LGPE could simply mean all of those LGPE-exclusive mechanics are removed, but it doesn't guarantee that the games themselves will actually follow the general standard from most games. What "longtime" means could be subjective; hell, people who played XY and SM (two very divisive generations of games, where GF changed many elements of the formula) could be defined as "longtime" fans. Having better graphics than other Pokemon games is a given since this is on Switch, but I doubt these games will have amazing graphics on par with other Switch titles, in large part because GF has proven that they are woefully incompetent with graphics. And finally, that last claim that there will be many new Pokemon... "Many" is subjective. It could refer to well over 100, maybe even over 120. But "many" could be the crippling 70-80 Pokemon we've had for Gens 6 and 7. (Albeit there were plenty of forms/formes, regional variants, and Mega Evolutions/Primal Reversions in Gens 6/7 that took time away from creating new designs.) But still, I don't think we're getting massive generations on par with 1, 3, or 5 ever again. As much of a treat as that would be, Game Freak is very reluctant with making many new Pokemon in a generation.
