I'mdo not really like the idea of pitching against each other metacritic scores of two different games, but even I have to admit this is interesting.

2019 with gen 8 and YW4 should be interesting.

Pokemon is banking off being much, much older and being nostalgic. Tieing with a franchise that has to work for its score (while being actively shat on by Pokemon fans) is pretty weak.

Kek. All the people here talking about what a failure Let's Go's sales were will surely be talking about YW3's massive Western sales, right? Hell, Let's Go - which was on the Switch - outsold YW3, which was on the 3DS and released in Japan in 2016 when the franchise was still clinging to its 2014-2015 popularity there, instead of being the decaying corpse it is today.

So you're telling me that the most underdoggish of underdogs is fighting a definition of an uphill battle and still manages to net a better critics score than one of the most anticipated games of 2018?
And which Yokai Watch 3 are you even talking about? There were three of them in Japan and this one is neither of them.
Plus, using sales as an argument is pretty lame, no one is arguing that Pokemon won't sell more 100% of the time. It's all about quality and even westerners seem to be catching on Gamefreak's shenanigans.
