>volcaronaDisagree. STAB Bug Buzz allows it to punch right through Slowbro in ways Giga Drain couldn't, even at +1. Bug Typing also grants it resistance to Mach Punch which could ruin a sweep.

Bug/Poison/Ground is only resisted by a handful of relevant Pokemon, and none of those that resist it would resist it any better were Beedrill pure Poison.
