I completely love every generation. I don't understand gen wars. Why do people so personally attached and defensive over particular games that they shit on others? Is it a meme or are people genuinely furious?

I feel the same. Though i have my favourites, i do enjoy every gen. Played Emerald, HG, Black 2, and X this year. Now doing a playtrough of Gale of Darkness. Pokémon is comfy.

100% agree. I come to VP because I love Pokémon, not to see other people shit on each other’s opinions. Every gen has at least one thing going for it that another gen doesn’t and that’s why I love to replay every game.

I have a hard time replaying the games; I generally dump 4 or 5 months into one game when it's new and always create a living dex from the ground up. I still enjoy them all, it's very fun.

Gen VI and VII aren't bad in the sense that they're functioning video games with 20 years of content and battle mechanics carried over into them, but as completely original games in the Pokémon franchise, they drop so much of what I actually enjoy in video games. It's at the point where I think that the only people who are happy with them are those who don't really play other JRPGs and only like Pokémon for aesthetic and brand reasons. I like Slowpoke as much as the next guy, but it being present in a game does not actually make the overall game better.

I'm the same, but only where it counts: The Pokemon designs. I think there can be bad Pokemon games, and recently I found the entire 3DS era of Pokemon very dissapointing, but I don't think I'll ever fault a Generation for its Pokemon.

i grew up playing the games. i love emerald, platinum, hgss, bw, and b2w2. i loved the mystery dungeon games. i like quite a few of the new pokemon designs, they're the only redeeming factors from the last two gens.
just because i don't blindly praise everything game freak does doesn't mean i hate the series.

Criticizing doesn't necessarily mean hate, you still can enjoy games despite their flaws.
