Just beat this. Here's my take if anyone was thinking about buying it used and hiding their insecurity behind shitposting.
Honestly I think LGPE is Definitive Kanto.
Neutral Observations
>Handholdy parts were present at the beginning and became less present as the game progressed. Things like Gym requirements became a non factor after Sabrina and Insta travel text became less common.
>The game increased the focus on catching more than any other game. Some people may not be fond of this, but the point that was always emphasized in Pokemon was catching them, and its cool to see that they're actually rewarding us for it this time around.
>Pokeballs actually matter, as in you can't expect to just carry 100 pokeballs, like in the previous games, and not be frustrated. Buying better Pokeballs actually matters in this game.
>For those of us who beat the game with only Charizard back in the day, the game certainly gives you that option with your starter. Especially Eevee.
>Game is about as easy as FRLG and the original games actually.
>Interestingly enough, they removed the feature that let you know if a move is SE or not. Strange considering what type of game this is. Maybe I just didn't see it.
>Candyless competitive seems to be pretty much figured out and static. Other than that, it's about as cancerous as any other competitive Pokemon game.
>Didn't see a point in using new characters and all the retcons like Blue (JP Green) not ever getting a Pokedex. Even their houses are replaced by yours. Eerie imho.
