Ash got into fights before Misty meets him so he was a shithead at that time, Ash was still being more of a mentor to Dawn even as they acted as equals and she acted more as an equal to May, Ash wasn't being a shithead or shown as a shithead until Iris went overboard, Serena saw Ash at his most vulnerable so he wasn't 'invincible', Lana and Mallow are there and pretty much everyone acts like a general idiot with meme faces.

Completely wrong, Dawn is way below Ash the whole time. The only thing that separates them is that Dawn actually evolves her pokemon, although they frequently disobey her because of it. DP also took a lot of really shitty tonal changes.

This is where your theory falls apart because for a long time Lillie is afraid of pokemon and pokemon are depicted as goofy and fun. It can't be 100% Lillie's perspective. There's a bit of Mallow and Lana in there too.

Lillie does make anime Lusamine make more sense; instead of the cold-hearted monster Lusamine actually is, she's warm and loving which is what Lillie wishes her mom was.
