Seriously for all the hate it gets, how did they get the idea to utilize the trade mechanic to infer the idea that trading bits and corrupting data leads to corruption of DNA?

This can happen with any trade, so how are these things happening with any other pokemon? Not to mention if you wanted to use the same logic for Kadabra and Haunter, it doesn't add up even if were exclusively them. (which it isn't, the same as this)

The theory is that they perhaps wanted to implement the Shelmet/Karrablast trade mechanic in Gen 1 for Golem/Machamp, but couldn't due to programming limitations (or laziness). Then they got around to actually introducing it in Gen 5. I've seen the theory discussed before, and while I typically hate headcannon, you have to admit the attributes swapped between Graveler and Machoke after they evolve is pretty clear. Maybe it's coincidence.

Looking at Kadabra, and especially at Haunter and Gengar's wieght, my headcanon says to me that Kadabra is an occult who try to gain more power and knowledge and unwillingly binds a demon with physical form.
