You're not entirely wrong, FR/LG are guilty of some of the same faults as LGPE
>bars you from using anything outside of the 150 for the main campaign, meaning no Steelix, Scizor, Politoed, Crobat, Blissey, or even giving you early access to mid/later game mons like Electabuzz, Magmar or Jynx via their pre-evos
>no Day/Night or time of the day events despite being in R/S/E, just completely nerfed compared to G/S/C in terms of visuals and actual Day/Night events
>no breeding so you also can't leave two Pokemon in the daycare until post game
