I started a club at my school for Pokemon. It's hard to find people irl who are as obsessive about Pokemon as I am. I prefer the lore and worldbuilding aspect of Pokemon as well as the collecting aspect, I love getting living dexes. Many of my favorites are large Pokemon like Steelix, Gigalith, Avalugg, Aggron, Torterra, etc. though I do like my fair share of basic cute and "cool" Pokemon (i.e. Absol, Lycanroc, etc.) I like the anime in terms of being able to see all the Pokemon in the games interacting with their world. It is true that when I was 10-12 it introduced me to shippings and such. I don't talk about Pokemon to anyone else in real life because I don't want to seem weird for being so obsessed with it (the Pokemon club was in high school). I like drawing OCs for it with shitmons, etc. I am way too scared of the female Pokemon community online because they seem obsessive over characters and how they are, etc. and I'd rather not deal with that. I always hope that one day I'd be able to sperg about Pokemon with someone who cares about it like I do. I'm also not even remotely overweight.
But still, you get different flavors of fans. My sister, on the other hand, is super obsessed with the competitive part of Pokemon.
