Something I've been thinking about for a while. Could the Ranger series make a comeback and use a different gameplay mechanic than drawing circles on a touchscreen? Maybe something utilizing the Switch's motion controls? I think there's potential.

You'd need a pen for it, plus I think a new mechanic to freshen up and rejuvenate the series would be nice.

It won't happen, Non-Mobile Spinoffs won't be made anymore because GameFreak and TPC are too concerned with assuring every single Pokemon Title returns a significant profit.
Non-Mobile Spinoffs have a notorious track record of selling rather poorly considering what investment probably goes into them, with very few exceptions.

They do, as evidenced by LGPE having all the qualities of a spinoff title but selling far, FAR more just because they referred to it as a Mainline (later Core) title while Pokken DX, a Switch Port of a WiiU Game, when those are known to sell very well, sold worse than fucking Labo Cardboard simply because it was known as a Spinoff.

I only played the first but it was definitely pretty fun.

In all honesty, why haven't we seen any spinoffs in this generation in general? Detective Pikachu was originally a gen 6 spinoff, Pokken on the Switch is just an enhanced port, and Let's GO is too similar to a main game to be considered a spinoff. What happened?

Pokemon GO is technically Gen 7, we had Magikarp Jump and Pokemon Quest. We've had some spinoffs but people just forget about them.
