Way better but still too forward of a waifumon for a starter. The old design gave me the luxury of not believing the bunch was real for an instant with that bravo uniform double tango, and at least this one isn't just a humanoid with a animal head.

The first and second evo are too similar to each other. Even the third evolution compared to the first evolution looks not different enough. I prefer the grass one without its forward ears.

They really don't resemble Pokémon. Something's too human about them the grass version doesn't do. Even Tyrogue for example doesn't resemble a person as much as those fire evolutions.

Looks like they're going with one Feminine starter each gen. It started with Delphox, then Primarina, now it's the grass starters turn.
