Why didn't they build this in the Gen 3 or Gen 4 engine? The Gen 2 engine is dated and clunky as fuck.

because gen 2 is already disassembled and gen 3 isnt decompiled. working with a gen 2 disassembly is much easier than asm ahcing gen 3. once then gen 3 decompilation is finished and documented, expect similar hacks for emerald and firered.

I did! It was really good and makes it hard to replay other games now since it's such a pain having to wait so long to build a team up and go to where I want to go.
