>>37209632It makes sense in the game's plot though. That being said I am not looking forward to future gens having a scientist NPC show up at a Pokemon Center and just hand you the Dark Star as if it's not a potential planet busting device.
Game Freak makes a lot of stupid decisions, but a held item that prevents the wild pokemon from being caught is a pretty clever way to make a wild boss fight that you can't cheese with a master ball.
