>A divided land is unified by two brothers and their dragon Pokemon
>One brother valued objective truth more than the other, who valued ideology(subjective truth)
>The dragon Pokemon splits into Reshiram and Zekrom, each siding with a brother, who then battle and destroy Unova in fire and lightning
>Dissonance between objective reality and personal truth cause war within society, while that conflict ultimately pushes people to find where those concepts overlap
>Even at that point, where the conflict can be transcended, the same conflict can exist between smaller groups, or individuals, or within individuals, to the same effect
>Team Plasma's dissonance is that there is conflict between people and Pokemon, yet the relationships people and Pokemon build are founded on mutual respect and necessity
>Team Plasma is ruined because their belief about human exploitation of Pokemon doesn't reflect the reality of greater Unova and their own exploitation of Pokemon goes against their ideology
>N is raised in a false world created by Ghetsis and Team Plasma, who indoctrinate him
>N seeks truth/to assert his ideology, but can't balance the one he seeks since his conception of the other is near-nonexistent due to the lies/brainwashing from Team Plasma
>Conflict between the player and N, as well as Truth and Ideology, pushes N to the point where he can become a whole human being free of the lies/indoctrination of his upbringing
Why can't Game Freak do stories like this anymore? Not saying it's highest quality storytelling in games generally, but even their more story heavy games they haven't been able to communicate themes this well. Does it really just boil down to laziness? Surely these aren't the only themes they can think of for the Pokemon series.
