As you continue to age, newer generations of Pokemon will seem worse and worse because it does not cater to your personal tastes. This is not the fault of the series, but rather of you growing beyond its target audience. All things change and grow over time, even ourselves. The game just isn't for you anymore, so there's no need to overly praise it, or overly haze it, your opinion really doesn't matter anymore. It's the opinion and voices of the new generation that matters.
