It woud have been find if they did that with LGPE

I didn't buy those games either but let's be honest here, the games are not centered around travelling. The game is called Pokemon, because it's about catching, trading and battling Pokemon. Half of the time the map just serves as a puzzle for you to solve and the other half of the time, it's sole purpose is to be filler between gyms.
