I have issues with both. Electrode should be a single stage Pokémon that’s actually the size of a Pokeball. No idiot will walk up to an Electrode thinking it’s a Pokeball with it being, what, 4ft tall? Also wish it were part Ghost.
Amoongus doesn’t make sense in that it’s design stands out so hard in nature. Predators and prey alike would see it a mile away. Or are we under the assumption that Pokémon know enough about Pokeballs to take the design as warning coloration.
More inclined to give Electrode a pass because of nostalgia but they both sit funny with me.

The point is they look like pokeballs to the trainer; yeah they probably are meant to be seen as pokeballs to other pokemon but I doubt gamefreak sees them as anything more than a puzzle/fake out

Probably this, since we found out that pokémon can adapt to the enviroment and even changing types.
