I don't mind waifu bullshit, I would never watch a show for it but it doesn't piss me off when its used occasionally.
But SM seriously panders to the LCD of weebs, just shoving girls doing stupid things in front of your face with cheap character development that's been done better in the worst of disney flicks.
There are people who wouldn't like this show if they couldn't get off to the characters. The pokemon anime should be ashamed of pandering to the demographic.

Its actually a rampant problem with anime that the character designs do more work than the actual plot. Most anime plots are generally worse than what you have coming from typical shows or movies, with the primary attraction being the art and the character designs.
