Not a bad design by any means, but the "wings" are really awkward and a bit retarded. Too small to be cool, but so large that they're noticeably distracting. And it can't even fly.

Can you explain? Druddigon is a Pokemon that I can see why some would dislike it, but don't find the design entirely offensive. To me, it's a Pokemon that, design wise, you either like or hate, no middle ground.

The way his head just sticks out from the rest of his body, being a bright red in contrast to the blues for no apparent reason. The way his entire body looks like a demented Ruffles chip for no apparent reason. The way his skull is shaped like a paperclip remover for no apparent reason. There are just so many superfluous elements to his design that serve no purpose and detract from the parts that actually do make sense. They make up the majority of his design so I just associate "druddigon" with "that spiky dragon thing that doesn't make sense". It's mostly the head that gets to me. It's like someone put a red paper bag over his actual face, or some kid ripped the head off his action figure and put a different head in its place and passed it off as a Pokemon design.

For coloration, there is a species of lizard out there that has the exact same color placement as Druddigon, down to an all blue body with a red head. For the excessively jagged/spiky anatomy, I see it due the dex entries emphasizing how Druddigon is primarily a cave dwelling Pokemon, and it travels through tunnels dug by other cave dwellers(dex entries mention Onix, Excadrill, and Digglet/Dugtrio), so I imagine that kind of anatomy is an adaptation.

One of my favorite dragon types.
Love how the design really manages to reflect its cave/tunnel dwelling nature. The shiny is also nice.

Seeing how its the same red seen in the spikes and in those big scales, itcs safe to conclude its head is extra armored for protection.
