I'm about to fucking cave. I tried playing romhacks like Clear Crystal and Volt White 2 and I just couldn't get into them, I don't know why.

I'm fucking fiending out over here /vp/ and yes I have Smash Ultimate and Red Dead 2 and I still can't get rid of this fucking Pokemon itch god damn.

I've been thinking about this too. But I was so outspoken on how negatively I viewed the game in the early days of it's prerelease/release. I'm definitely going to feel some shame if I end up buying it tonight.

Can I just say how happy I am to have skipped over ORAS? Just got it yesterday and it’s been scratching that itch really well, haven’t felt this way about a Pokémon game in a really long time. It feels light years ahead of USUM and X&Y. I hope it doesn’t shit the bed later on though

ORAS did the whole remake thing better than Let's Go. The Hoenn region on it's own is way bigger and with much more to do, even without Emerald's battle frontier, than barebones no Sevii Islands Kanto.

That along with better online and more Pokemon, etc.

You can also genuinely voice your opinions on the games and you can trigger the autists on /vp/ who've barely played each game, it's great. Glad I'm a SM Alolatard who hates USUM.

It’s not a masterpiece, it’s just not that terrible. It definitely lacks content and unless you like grinding shinies master battles or pvp it’s a solid 30 hour commitment if you don’t cheese with your starter or with a candy maxed out shitmon. It is fun, leaves something to be desired, and not worth $60.

Aha yeah man maybe it’s just the honeymoon period with the game since I just started but it genuinely feels closer to the older games than any of the other 3ds games do. That’s all I’ve been wanting since 2012 desu. The 3DS games feel hollow, missing that old Pokémon spark but I can see what people like about them. I think it has to do with how thin they are on content and how it forces you to stay on the story path. I’m aware that ORAS are miles below HGSS but here’s to hoping none of X&Y’s bs gets shoved into the game for no reason

The future of the franchise has already been determined. The fact we even got a remake like Let's Go shows that. XY sold the least of all and the only change that was made for SM was that gyms were removed in favor of a gimmick that won't return unless Alola gets remade too

Because I love Pokémon I am incapable of buying this trash regardless of the fact that I would desperately love to.

If this hadn't come directly on the heels of the other Nintendo franchises going back to the roots and building up with all the content and new shit it might have been easier to stomach but that's not the world we live in.

I knew that I'd regret it so I've never bought it. After skipping USUM, it got a little easier.

I know that I only really wanted it for the aesthetics/updated graphics so I just watched a playthrough.

It hasn't stopped me from feeling annoyed with noticing little opportunities that were missed and being aware of potential details that were left out.

I honestly felt the Pokemon itch but I've been getting bored of Pokemon as of late. This game right here solved that.

Is it easier than other Pokemon games? Yes - but that doesn't make it any less FUN. Catching pokemon with motion controls is fun. Finding a pokemon in the over world you haven't caught yet is such a rush, you literally have to chase towards it to get it. It FEELS like the pokemon you imagined as a child while you played.

My only gripe so far is that its a tad easy on the battle side of things, even with regularly switching up your party. I'd recommend boxing the starter for sure. It does apparently get tougher, but I've found myself playing it an hour or so before bed and accidentally staying up for longer despite this flaw.

Its hardly a groundbreaking game or much of a challenge, but if you're looking for a game that feels fun, this is it.

Honestly the games aren’t nearly as bad as the people here make them seem, but they are really easy. I was really against no wild battles but after playing through the game I don’t mind the absense all that much. Walking with pokemon is still great, especially after getting flight. And there’s a bit more added to the story in general, like Giovanni having dirt on Silph.
