Grass is pretty based all things considered. They've fallen out of style offensively (Only Sweeper/Cleaner in OU is Kartana) but as long as we get good defensive and tank Grass mons like Mega Venusaur, Ferrothorn, Tangrowth,Geoffrey, and Tapu Bulu they should be fine.
Anyway, let's look at the OU viability ranking. There's 3 Grass-types ranked in A+. That's more than Steel and Fairy. There are 6 Grass-types ranked at all (Ferro, Bulu, Tangrowth, M-Venu, Serperior, and Kartana). There are 6 Fire-types Ranked (incl. both Zard megas) but no one ever makes "how do we fix the Fire-type?" threads.
If Gen 6 birdspam couldn't keep Grass-types down then nothing will. There is nothing i inherently wrong with the type, it's just bloated with shitmons like the Normal-type is. For Every Bulu there's three Sunfloras or Bellossoms.
