>>37234960Let's go through them one by one along the index list.
Cubone - not much change, a bit chubbier
Rhyhorn - smoother, kinda resembles that big quadruped Pokemon from the Capumon town sketch
Lapras - matches the Capumon sketch
Arcanine - called Wind, based on Qilin rather than Byakko, hooves, smoother design which was expected of a Pokemon so early in the index list. I think the sprite is 64x64, larger than the biggest final sprites (Nidoking, Nidoqueen and Exeggcute were 64x64 as well)
Omega - the first real Missingno, still around in early 1993 as evidenced here
>>37235172 replaced with Mew late into development. Had Blastoise's cry apparently.
Gyarados - much different, resembles an Abyss Worm from Final Fantasy series rather than a Chinese dragon. 64x64 as well?
Shellder - the early design became that of its evolution much later in the development
Tentacool - called Ambler, looks more dangerous, has a frown and more tentacles
Gastly - not much change
Scyther - another surprise, looks more like a mantis-raptor hybrid. Definitely more draconic than insectoid. Another 64x64 it seems
Staryu - called Mimi like on that Capumon sketch
Blastoise - called Caravaggio like in all known dev documents, has a base cry index of Squirtle, Zubat, Tauros etc. instead of the one it eventually got.
Pinsir - not much change apart from its eyes
Tangela - mostly the same, a bit puffier
Some of these had gone through a redesign by the time 1993 rolled around (notably Scyther and Blastoise). Overall what we've got pretty much confirms that the sketches we've already seen matched the original designs.
