Actual cannon doesn't make sense. It would be impossible to live in a pokemon world (both for humans and pokemon) if you follow the dex entries and pokemon moves as cannon. Vaporeon would be an animal not a body of water how does that even work?
Also just as an example consider magcargo's entry which says he's body temperature is around 18000 F.

This is a series where technologically advanced humans convert monsters into energy to store them in compressed form and then use them for battles. Those very same monsters can shoot energy, use psychokinetic abilities, create matter out of thin air and spotaneously transform to completely change their biology. Souls are actually real and if someone passes away there is a good chance they get reincarnated as an actual fucking ghost. Some of them even have enough power to destroy all life on the planet or recreate the entire goddamn universe. And? I've done the math on that. It's not that bad. Certainly not compared to the energy it takes to blow away a mountain like Volcanion can.

Why? The MCU and DCEU are just as ridiculous as the world portrayed in the Pokedex, yet they work absolutely fine. Same with the new Godzilla movie. Practically every space opera or fantasy movie ever written breaks just as many laws of physics as Pokemon.

Which still isn't very much. About ten times hotter than regular lava. Don't get me wrong, that's hot enough to set everything within a few hundred feet on fire, but that's still not that impressive compared to other Pokemon.

Im just trying to make some sense out of pokemon, if you're eating everything the dex throws at you then just believe a pokemon is made out of water and taking a bite out of it would be like drinking. Clearly you're a different anon you actually make a good point ^^ ye you're right I care a lot about pokemon and in my mind I'm constantly trying to create a semi realistic world with them! The thing is, I don't need excessive fantasy only enough to make it magical, so Im willing to accept water and fire being created out of nowhere but my mind refuses to accept that in a world like that people would exist if pokemon were that overpowered. So I try to tone it down to a magical but not ridiculous world. That means that the pokedex cannot be taken seriously. Yeah it is a personal thing and what I was arguing with the other anon was completely pointless. To answer OP in the pokemon universe you'd be biting water, in a more realist world you'd be biting a live animal with organs not made out of water.

I always just imagine that Pokémon were artificial pets of a long gone and highly advanced human civilization, their powers and things like poké balls enabled by shitloads of self-replicating nanotechnology integrated into the environment that is smart enough to always stay on the edge of detection by prying eyes.
