So like every trainer battle ever? Hell Colosseum and Gale of Darkness don't even give you the "Don't be a thief" line. Rui/The Aura reader won't even let you throw a ball at non Shadows.

Also wild double battles in the main games don't let you throw the ball either. There's a 100 different ways they could've justified it.

Because it’d be “too difficult” for little kids to fight her and her whole party even though they put Ultra Necrozma in the next game who was waaay more overpowered than that.

What I don’t get is they gave all her Pokemon angry faces so they could’ve just used a regular nihilegos stats with a slightly different appearance for virtually no effort.

The fact Ultra Necrozma exists means that is absolutely not the reason. Far more likely that having you battle a human with your Pokemon was seen as a poor move for the series to take. Having your Pokemon go all out to fight your friend's mum is pretty fucked up.

It's not like her Pokémon are special in that regard though. All Pokémon have a mad facial expression animation which is used during most Z-Moves.

The only difference is that all of her Pokémon stay in the Z-power animated state for the duration of the battle.
