I don’t see much advocating for it on this board, but XY is really replayable imo. Good options for most types, very minimal story, big Pokédex. All adds up to a pretty enjoyable ride every time I come back to it, although the elite 4 + champ just lets the game down right at the last hurdle to me.

X/Y gets a bad rap solely because no Z happened and OR/AS. X/Y is actually more enthusing than SM/USUM because god forbid there's actually different areas in this place. It's kind of shocking how much less X/Y stops you compared to S/M.

I’ve replay all games in my down time, have replayed XY the most, Gens 1 and 3 the least, and the others about the same. I practically never touch RSE or RBY because of the remakes

I have never replayed a Pokemon game. Once I make a save, it's too much time invested to just delete and restart. It's not like other games where I beat it and figure "eh, I'll play this again someday."
I liked Gen 7 but I really don't see the reason to replay it either, especially when I got rather attached to Nebby and named it that too (and I don't usually name legends).

These. At least the cutscenes in XY are often funny, such as Shauna repeatedly losing her shit over being asked to pay for things/tip people.

No Z is a good thing. Physical DLC is cancer, and splitting it into two versions is even worse. USUM may be "better" than SM, but the business practice that created them is the worst thing about Pokemon

Enhanced versions are fucking ripoffs but USUM is considered bad and Platinum isn’t because USUM didn’t fix SM’s cutscene problem like Pt fixed DP. a Z would’ve been a Platinum-tier remake if it fixed XY’s post-game, the region is practically perfect but the games have no content. Z would’ve at least added a few new areas, post-game, megas, and make use of dud area like the sea spirit’s den, locked power plant, and chamber of emptiness

Nah, after BW2, sequels should've been made the new standard. So instead of wanting Z, we should've gotten X2 and Y2 with added Southern Kalos towns, including a new starter town, Korrina as champion, a Zygarde-Xerneas or Zyfarde-Yveltal plot depending on the version, and more postgame including giving the gym leaders 6-mon rematch teams and/or PWT.

As for where Serena/Calem are during X2/Y2? Just have characters say they fucked off to Hoenn or something.
