I think it'd be cool to have a pokemon game with more than 8 gym battles. And no I'm not talking about Gen 2 style 16.
Like what if the region had you collect more than 8 badges to take on the league? Like 12 badges? IT could spice it up a bit and add some length to the main game.

All of these. I mocked various things about Gen 5 when it was released, and I feel like a damn fool for it seeing what followed. For their faults they're better games than gens 6 and 7 were.
