pokemon amie was introduced in gen 6, stupid. as for your last point, its neither here nor therw, just cause you dont use it, doesnt mean its not used in for people who pvp, which gimps the process of raising mons and is just more pandering to gen 1. we all have access to rby and gc, with pokebank you can have them, but as a starter it just feels remedial.
