>>37252404>>37252416Diamond and Pearl's Fire type issue is that it's simply a product of its time. Diamond and Pearl came out on the original DS with the lower GBA slot, and take use of the dual-slot function that some DS games had at the time.
GF essentially assumed that most people who bought Diamond and Pearl were returning fans who at least had 1 or 2 of the GBA Pokemon games before going into the DS gen as using the Dual-slot function of D/P let's you use a few extra Pokemon in the game:

I mean your options are still extremely narrow, but it is what it is, they really probably should have thrown maybe something like Torkoal or Houndour in there as well.
