The sub takes itself very seriously and has similar directing to early One Piece, which debut around the same time. It's definitely better, but I didn't like it nearly as much. In the dub, the wacky fever dream writing is taken at face value, because the digital world is nonsensical. In the sub they try to understand it and it's weird and unnecessary.
One of the big benefits is everything's consistent and there are no stupid dub mistakes (like Giga Destroyer > Giza Destroyer / Giga Blaster). It really is like watching a different show.
