>>37258533I feel like Sinnoh had some wasted potential but I recently played through Platinum again and my god is Sinnoh a great region. Interconnecting routes, a giant mountain dungeon serving as the central hub of the whole thing, the first time snow has ever been in the series with that snowy atmosphere cranked up to 11. I'll still always like Hoenn because of how exploration heavy it was, but Sinnoh's almost like a Hoenn 2.0. Kalos though isn't that great. It's literally a circle which was the same thing as Gen 5, but Gen 5 did it better because of how you explored it. There was an entire half of the region you hadn't been able to go to by the end of the main story. Kalos has a single city that's smaller than the first truly great postgame, the Emerald Frontier. Kalos' entire atmosphere is nice, aside from the washed out colors, but it all feels so empty because nothing got expanded on. Face value was all you got out of everything.
